Our History

LIFEFLIGHT® Panama was conceived in 2006 after identifying the need for a dedicated, Helicopter Emergency Medical, Air Ambulance and Rescue Service in the Republic of Panama.

Founded in 2007, by Elevacions principals, Jim Thomson, a Commercial Licensed Helicopter Pilot and partner Helen Tonkin, to serve the whole community, on-shore and off-shore.

LifeFlight was a membership based service, which performed a vital role in the community saving lives in a way not previously possible with regular response times of less than 8 minutes.

Sadly the service was ended in 2008, due to local pressure, although not before assisting flood victims east of Boquete.
